Beard Combs vs Beard Brushes
Well gentlemen, this one DOES come down to length. booth tools can help achieve the same goal. If your beard is over 2 inches long, here's why you need to add a quality comb to your arsenal:
- Combs can be used in the shower to help evenly work in beard conditioner.
- A comb with long teeth- like our beard pick- can better reach under your beard to massage skin and promote circulation for more active follicles.
- Combs are more compact, making them idea travel partners or more handy to carry on the daily for quick touch ups.

Beard Comb FAQ
Is it possible to comb my beard too much?
Yes, it is possible to comb your beard or mustache too much. Your skin and hair can take only so much abrasion before getting damaged so limit each section or your beard or mustache to 6-8 strokes per grooming session.
Do I need a beard comb and a beard brush?
It all comes down to preference. Beard brushes are recommended for every beard care kit for their ability to boost hair health, detangle, tame and style. Natural boar hair bristles are very compatible with beard oil within a beard care regimen. However, some may find that a beard brush isn’t reaching as deep into their facial hair no matter the brushes bristle stiffness. That’s where a beard comb can do the trick.
For beardsmen looking to keeping things simple and quick, a beard comb can fit the bill. Most combs can just be rinsed with warm water and wiped clean. They can withstand life in a desk drawer, in a glove box as a back up, or tucked into a duffle for refreshing your beard after a meal or workout. Combs also can be more helpful when it comes to evenly shaping and trimming your beard.
Do I need to do anything to care for my beard comb?
Keeping your grooming tools clean is important in any routine. Cellulose acetate combs can be cleaned with warm water and dish soap to remove buildup of oils. We don't recommend cleaning these combs with hot water to prevent warping.
Sandalwood combs should be wiped down with a damp cloth. If the comb is feeling dry, evenly distributing a few drops of beard oil will bring it back to life. They should not be submerged in water at any time. If you'd like to restore a sandalwood comb's natural scent, a few passes of light grit sand paper will do the trick (That's anything with a grit of 400-600)..
