A beard comb is a grooming implement designed specifically for facial hair care. It can feature fine, medium, or wide width teeth depending on the comb you select. Few even offer dual teeth width for supreme styling and untanging abilites no matter your beard length.
Beard combs are more compact and offer deeper untangling than some beard brushes can. It is also a great tool to line up or trim your scruff with precision.
Lastly, beard combs and mustache combs are incredibly portable. Slip it into your jean pocket, and you’ll always be ready for some on-the-fly styling.
Zeus offers 4 different comb materials, the primary being plant based Cellulose Acetate and Sandalwood.
How Do You Use a Beard Comb?
1. Apply beard oil, beard balm, mustache wax, or mustache balm to a freshly-cleansed and towel-dried beard or mustache.
2. Run comb from the roots to the tips to distribute product evenly throughout your beard or mustache.
PRO-TIP: If your grooming tool has both medium and fine teeth, start with the wider-toothed side then finish with the fine teeth. This ensures your beard or mustache appears thicker.

Beard Comb FAQ
Is it possible to comb my beard too much?
Yes, it is possible to comb your beard or mustache too much. Your skin and hair can take only so much abrasion before getting damaged so limit each section or your beard or mustache to 6-8 strokes per grooming session.
What is the difference between a beard comb and a beard brush? Do I need both?
Zeus beard brushes contain naturally derived bristles- boar or tampico- and a wooden handle. Brushes are best at evenly distributing your natural skin oil and added beard oil for healthier growth. Zeus beard combs are made from a variety of natural materials with varying teeth width. Combs are best at detangling and training beards to grow how you'd like.
Depending on the length and thickness of your beard, and considering your beard goals, you likely need both. Shorter beards will benefit from a beard comb when it's time to trim and shape. Longer beards will benefit from deeper detangling and tug-free straightening.
Do I need to do anything to care for my beard comb?
Keeping your grooming tools clean is important in any routine. Cellulose acetate combs can be cleaned with warm water and dish soap to remove buildup of oils. We don't recommend cleaning these combs with hot water to prevent warping.
Sandalwood combs should be wiped down with a damp cloth. If the comb is feeling dry, evenly distributing a few drops of beard oil will bring it back to life. They should not be submerged in water at any time. If you'd like to restore a sandalwood comb's natural scent, a few passes of fine grit sand paper will do the trick (That's anything with a grit of 360-400).
